NHS England have stated that all HEALTHCARE SETTINGS must remain under the same rules as before. OPTICIANS PREMISES ARE CLASSED AS HEALTHCARE SETTINGS (PRIMARY EYECARE SERVICES). So, whilst on our premises you are still required to:
Our front-line health care staff have been working in two separate "bubbles", so we have had fewer appointment times available. We should be back to our more normal availability when NHS England allow us to come out of their amber stage.

- MAINTAIN 2 METRES SOCIAL DISTANCE (whenever possible)
- PRE-BOOKED APPOINTMENTS ONLY (we are sorry, but if you turn up at the front door without an appointment we will not be able to see you)
Following the guidance of NHS England and our professional governing bodies, we have been advised that we must work under Primary Eyecare Services guidance.
We are continuing to take appointment bookings, and of course following the same Covid protection protocols that have been in place for the last few months, prioritising "urgent and essential eyecare".
Due to social distancing and extra cleaning / disinfecting, we are not able to see as many patients as usual, so please be patient if we cannot fit you in straight away.

These are worrying times for us all, but we will be working hard through this period to ensure we provide the best care and service that's possible within the rules that we must follow.

This includes making an appointment for repairs, adjustments, dispensing & collection of glasses, as well as eye examinations.
We are all facing a "new normal", and a way of working that we never expected, so your patience and understanding is appreciated.

At Anderton Opticians we aim to use the latest hi-tech innovations for your eyecare.... whilst still maintaining the caring traditional approach pioneered by Miss Anderton when she started the practice more than 50 years ago.
We have a modern open-plan waiting area and large frame-display area, and even our goldfish swim over to say hello whilst you are waiting.
Our practice has built up a good traditional reputation over the years, but we are not at all "old fashioned". Our fully trained professional staff use some of the latest technology and techniques available, including digital retinal photography and the Seiko video centration system.
We are also lucky that we have our own large car park, making it so much more convenient for all, particularly our elderly or disabled patients.
